The Purge continues, however, it is coming to an end. The Forever Purge is the fifth and the last part of the series and is still dealing with class and race issues like The First Purge that was released in 2018, which was a pretty decent horror-action movie but by far not the best one of the series.
What we know so far is, that the story of The Forever Purge is going to take place after The Purge: Election Year (2016), where Adela (Ana de la Reguera) and Juan (Tenoch Huerta) fled from a drug cartel to a Texan ranch located in Mexico. The movie is scheduled to be released on July 2nd, 2021.
The story sounds very promising and if we take a closer look at the cast of the film it could be very interesting to see Ana de la Reguera who had several roles in well-known movies like Cowboys & Aliens (2011), Jessabelle (2014), or series like Narcos (2015), Goliath (2018), Power (2017) and we will see her in the upcoming horror-zombie movie Army of the Dead in 2021. Moreover, we could see Josh Lucas, who we already know from American Psycho (2000), Poseidon (2006), The Lincoln Lawyer (2011), and Will Patton from Halloween (2018), The Fourth Kind (2009), and a lot more movies from the 90s. The writer is none other than the creator of the franchise himself James DeMonaco. The Director of the last part is Everardo Gout who worked on some episodes in big projects like in Marvel’s Luke Cage (2018) and Banshee (2016). Maybe this is not the creme de la creme from the horror genre but it will be definitely worth watching it and give it a try.
